The Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Microsoft Office
2013
When it comes to productivity suites, Microsoft Office has
become globally known for its amazing technology abilities. Companies have now
become extremely reliant on such a powerful software.
Microsoft Office 2013 requires a bit of training and
becoming an expert can be accomplished within a couple weeks. However, while
there are a lot of advantages to MS Office 2013, there can be many
disadvantages.
If you’re trying to decide whether or not you should
upgrade to MS Office 2013, it is important you have an understanding of how Office
2013 has upgraded to help you decide whether this is a benefit or a positive.
The big advantage to MS office 2013 is the Cloud
integration, Read Mode, tablet-Friendly, Simple Editing and the ability to add
videos to documents.
Cloud Integration- which means your files are saved
in the clouds. This means your data is out of site and much more secure than
storing on your hard drive. It has an amazing technology of being completely
integrated with SkyDrive, which means you are able to access your files from
anywhere in the world. No matter where you are you simply just need an Internet
Connections. No need for USB sticks!!
Read Mode- In the new MS Office they have a new “read mode”
that will allow users to read documents in an easy-to-read environment. Ever
hated reading a document on screen?
Tablet-Friendly-The MS Office has its amazing
technology to be tablet friendly, this will benefit business as many people in
this industry rely on their tablet on a daily basis. Tablet and mobile is the
future.
Simple Editing- Now they have now made every
business wish come true, you are now able to edit PDF files using Office what
was never possible to do so before.
Add Videos to Documents- it now allows you to search for
appropriate videos with the software you`re using. If you have YouTube clips,
then this is fabulous.
Like every software there are always disadvantages. One day
we all hope that one day MS Office will have perfection, but the software is
improving dramatically which only leaves a couple of disadvantages. Mark my
words, it’s for better than office 2003 + 2007, so if you still use these
versions, defiantly change.
New User Interface- The new user interface is overly
simplistic, and many people find the simplicity lacks bulk. However, the
animated transitions make up for the flat user interface, as they’re
interesting and attractive.
Live Layout- Microsoft have introduced “Live
Layout” featured in Word 2013, now letting you add media and images into your
documents. There have been a fair share of users reporting errors while adding
media, refusing to go where you want them to place.
In the total conclusion of this over view of the
disadvantages and advantages of MS Office there seems to be plenty more reason
to buy this upgraded software. We have, and we will not be going back.
